Meet Our Governors

Lorraine Granger - vice chair / Parent governor

I have had a vested interest in New Road Primary since my daughter started in 2020. As a previous New Road student, I am grateful to be able to see a local village school develop to fit the community needs.

I currently work in secondary education, with a background in safeguarding and pastoral support. Additionally holding a MSc in Mental Health. I became a governor not only to gain a better understanding of the primary sector and develop my own skills but to assist with developing and supporting the education available to students within our community.

Raneam Makansi - vice chair / Community Governor

Hello, my name is Raneam and I am a 20 year old law student at the University of Birmingham! In my spare time, I enjoy weightlifting, reading and travelling.

I wanted to become a governor as I feel I can provide a fresh perspective due to the fact I am still in education myself. I aim to use my insights to aid with the development of the school and the children.

I am also keen on practicing in Education Law, so understanding the workings of the school gives me a base knowledge that I can utilise later in my career.

Joanne Sayer - Community Governor

Our first daughter started at New Road School in 2007, and we have had a care and interest in the school since that time. Our two younger children were also at the school from Reception to Year 6

As a full time mum who volunteers in school and at our church, I wanted to use my time constructively for the good of the school, it's pupils and staff.  I have been a governor since Autumn 2013.

Louisa Clare - Community Governor

I've been governor at the school for nearly three years and my interest in becoming a governor stemmed from my work in Information Governance and Data Protection and also wanting to contribute to the community.

I have a good understanding of the education system and I'm able to assist with the development of the school and also challenge the areas that we, as governors, are responsible for.

I have recently moved to Spalding but lived in Peterborough for a number of years and know the area and community well. I live with my partner, son and a very fluffy Cavapoo, called Gus!
